The Presiding Bishop

Bishop Titus B. Deas, Jr.

Bishop Titus B. Deas, Jr. was saved at the early age of 16 years old. Son of the late Senior Bishop Titus B. Deas, Sr., his pastor and mentor, and the late Mrs. JoAnn Deas, Bishop Deas’ call into the ministry at age 21 was not unfathomable considering he is a 3rd and 4th generation preacher. In 1994, he was ordained an Elder and became the Senior Pastor of Deliverance Temple Ministries, formerly known as Donald’s Temple First Born Church. He has taken this ministry from meager beginnings to a flourishing congregation, which has expanded to one church in two locations, by teaching biblical principles and applications.

The primary earmark of his ministry is to see the people of God saved, healed, delivered, set free, and walking in their spiritual gifts and callings given to them through the Holy Ghost. His dynamic preaching and practical teaching style have profoundly impacted the lives of many, challenging them to make lasting changes.

In 2009, Bishop Deas was elected and consecrated to the office of Bishop, as he made history by becoming the youngest bishop elected in the 100-plus years of the organization’s existence. In 2012, he was appointed the denomination’s first Bishop of Protocol. He led the church into a new phase of liturgical worship because of his newfound knowledge from the Joint College of African American Pentecostal Bishops, where he has been a member in good standing since the Spring of 2011.

In July of 2018, Bishop Titus B. Deas, Jr. was elected to the office of Senior Bishop of The First Born Church of the Living God, Inc., once again making him the youngest to hold this office, which is the highest ranking in the organization. He has been called and mandated to restore the church to its former glory through stabilization by teaching the Word of God, mobilization through reaching the lost by evangelistic outreach, and the realization through seeing the manifestation of the power of God by a fervent commitment to prayer and fasting.

Bishop Deas earned a Bachelor of Arts in Religion and Philosophy from Florida A&M University and was awarded the Honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree from Smith Chapel Bible University. He has also co-authored the book entitled, “A Pastor for Jesus Christ: Principles and Practices”.

Bishop Deas has served on several community-based boards, including Carter Ministries, Inc., as Vice President and President of the Disciples Group, Inc. In addition, he also serves on the board of Save One More Now, an organization designed to assist mothers in choosing life for their unborn child. Bishop Deas’ greatest passion is for our youth, which has led to the formation of Bridging the Gap Outreach, Inc. This non-profit organization addresses the academic and social needs of youth in the Gadsden County community. He has also created the Dreamer’s Scholarship Program, which financially supports young adults pursuing a higher education. Bishop Deas successfully sponsors an annual golf tournament fundraiser to provide support for the Dreamer’s Scholarship.

Bishop Deas is married to the lovely Sakina Deas, and they have one delightful daughter, Diamond Ajoi Deas. He has proven to be a servant-leader with a heart for his family and the people of God.
