Additionally, upon graduation, she became the first female in the school’s history to have her college basketball jersey #25 retired. She is a Sports Hall of Famer and a four-time All-American in basketball, having been inducted into the prestigious Chattahoochee Sports Hall of Fame in Columbus, GA. Evangelist Williams continued her educational pursuits and earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Troy State University, where she also teaches Computer Literacy as a college professor. Currently, she also holds a Specialist degree (Ed. S) in Special Education from the University of West Alabama.
Evangelist Williams grew up in the church and always aspired to serve and live for God. Serving as the local, district, and diocese youth leader over the years has been a privilege, allowing her to impact the lives of many young people and young adults. She has always wanted to help young people understand the right path in life, which is found in Jesus Christ. Evangelist Williams was mentored by her mother and church leaders and learned to teach others about the reality of heaven and hell. Her foundation in Christ has been built on a solid base, thanks to her childhood upbringing and the teachings she received in the church.
Evangelist Williams’ vision for the National Youth Department is Proverbs 22:6 – “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, they will not depart from it.” She has found that God’s word is true, and He cannot lie. She has a passion and desire to see all children succeed in God. Her goal is for young people and young adults to accept Jesus as their personal Savior and be filled with His precious Holy Spirit. Evangelist Williams is believing God for the salvation and spiritual transformation of the youth and young adults. She is also promoting spiritually innovative strategies, promoting diversity among our youth, improving perception and communication, identifying learning disabilities within our youth, and more.
Although Evangelist Williams faced many challenges in life, her motto was “Don’t Give Up” because giving up was never an option for her. To motivate the youth, she teaches them to P.U.U.S.H. (Persistence, Understanding, Unmovable, Steadfast, Help). She possesses an “I Can” spirit and encourages that same mindset for the youth.
Evangelist Williams is married to Bishop Joseph Williams, and they have two children, TaKesha Williams and Robert J. Williams. They have been blessed with two beautiful grandchildren, Serenity and Noah Lynn.
